Together
Life continues on
Laughing at our lamentations and cries of
“The sky is falling”
Many of us are still under the illusions:
That we are the center of the universe
Our time period is the seminal one in history
That the fate of civilization is in our(American) hands
Wake up
Humans did not create God
In our image and likeness
We are but cosmic dust
Quickened by Her breath
Sustained by Her love
Through Her blessing all of creation is sanctified
Bowing our heads in gratitude and awe should be our response
Remember in these difficult times
God did not establish countries
All boundaries are human made
Political parties exist for their own sake
The test of a leader’s worthiness
Remains as it has ever been
Does that person by actions and words
Strive to bring people together
Promote healing of spirits and bodies
Appeal to our highest instincts
Rather than to our fears and doubts
Endeavor to leave no one behind
Treating with equal respect and dignity the homeless and the billionaires
