My Mind’s Genrals — a poem written by Soheil Erfani Tabar

“There is a war going on,

Between logic and emotions.

Reasons, their troops,

Situations, their weapons.”

“My mind,

Their battlefield,

Filled with dead reasons,

And keen situations.”

“What is the right path,

Out of this madness?

This blood war,

Established by sadness.”

“Generals gazed,

Into each other’s eyes,

Singing the song of war,

leaving me behind.”

“Aren’t I in charge?

Isn’t this my mind?

Oh, I can remember,

I was out of touch.”

“Hiding right behind my throne,

being afraid,

Of making a choice.”

“Leaving the decision,

to be theirs to find.

They can’t find an answer,

without my resolve.”

“They are too opposed,

To be left alone.

You should tame them,

To be valuable.”

“I should take control,

Before war’s results.

As I need both generals,

for a right decide.”
