How to care for overwintering plants indoors

Acclimatize the plants in lower lighting for a few days before moving them indoors. For example, move a plant growing in full sun outdoors to a shadier area outside first.

Bring them inside before frost begins. Dig up as much of a root ball as possible but don’t bring much soil with the plant. You need to plant them in fresh potting soil for them to be healthy indoors.
