Prickly Poppies Are Blooming

They are commonly seen wildflowers in Nevada

The Prickly Poppy’s large, white flowers stand out against the desert landscape. They bloom during the heat of the summer and they like sandy soil that drains well. The flowers photographed here were found in a series of sand dunes that line a shallow desert lake.
