She came home!

She came home from the hospital.
The entire street clapped in unison.
Clapped for her bravery.

For being through something,
that could steal the soul of a being.

She was raped, she was traumatized.

Yet walking through that guard of honor,
she had a reassuring epiphany:

“It’s not my fault.”
