The Breeze

A Poem

Photo by Dustin Humes on Unsplash

Late spring sun blasts down: hottest day of the year so far.
My face, shoulders burn.
But the trees’ shade changes the valley, the world
Into a cool oasis.
Cooling breezes blow down the mountains’ slopes,
Swirl down the valley’s depths.
