The City I Miss

Prompt — Solo/Hush

It was with you that I found myself

It was you who set me free

It was you who gave me the courage to be solo

In you, I met the jerks and the sweethearts,

I felt the butterflies and the heartbreaks

But, in you, I found a place to call home

Many a time I walked solo, feeling lost in the crowd

In the middle of the hustle, you helped me stay hush

Being yet another face in the flock,

You helped me bury my worries in your noise

By looking at your lights from footbridges,

I felt calm amidst a thousand honks that filled my ears

I need to feel the stillness in your chaos,

I need to be lost in your crowd again

I want to fill my lungs with your air,

I want to feel your rain again

I miss you dearly, I miss the busy you

And I want you to be busy again
