The Flock
A poem
Why are you afraid of the fall?
Dont you know, you would grow wings as you fall?
If not, I would catch you before you touch the ground
Fear not, for I am waiting for you down the cliff
Take a leap of faith, jump down,
Fall down weightless, from your world of pretending!
I would set you free, free of doubts, what-ifs and maybes
Let me dust up the wings you hid for so long
Together, we would fly, cover the whole world,
We are a flock — you and me
Just us for now, we would find more on the way,
And we would set them free, free from delusions
Together we can, just make the jump,
Even if you break a bone, I would nurse you
Cherish you, day and night till you are ready
And I would wait for you, till my feathers fall off
We are a flock — you and me
