I sometimes wonder,
There is so much beauty in the world.

Just take a step out of your house.
Look about you.

The speeding wind, pleasant as ever.
The cloudy sky, mighty as ever.
The beaming sun, resplendent as ever.

The Songbird’s song, mellifluous as ever.
The colourful butterfly, flapping its wings in glory as ever.

Isn’t all this beauty wasted if we don’t appreciate it?

What is beauty’s purpose?
Why is it given to us?

Is it to impress us?
Is it to teach us a lesson?
Is it to honour its Creator?

Or is it just to receive applause?

I pondered over this question many a time.
What is the purpose of beauty?

And then, I realised,

The purpose of beauty is Hope.

Amid all the current misery and pain,
One sees the smile of a child,
And we instantly know that it’s gonna be alright.

During the rigmarole that is life,
When one feels that he can no more deal with it,
And says, “I Quit”,
He listens to one soulful song,
And he knows tomorrow is gonna be a better day.

Beauty mesmerises. Alright!
But, it does have a higher calling,
And that's of bestowing peace and hope.

And this,
One only notices
In the pangs of desperation.

Thanks for dropping by.
