Time stopped when you left

Three years since our last Halloween
Halloween stopped here,
without you,
You carved pumpkins there,
not here,
You don’t look there like you
did here,
So tall, so thin, so not-little,
so not-here,
Thanksgiving stopped too
and Christmas,
My calendar is blank on
those dates,
I am happy for you and
sad for me,
Life goes on — different
but forward,
You no longer talk of
