Things Got Confusing at the Vet
I guess Charlie isn’t as unique as he thinks he is
One evening, I noticed that Charlie was constantly licking and chewing on his foot. A closer look revealed a split toenail and we could see that it was causing him a lot of pain. That night, he hopped up into the bed. Instead of sleeping next to me like he normally does, he decided to lay on top of me. It was hard to get comfortable with a 98-pound dog laying on me! He didn’t sleep well and kept panting through the night, wanting comfort. I called the vet early the next morning.
The receptionist said if I could drop him off before 8:30 a.m., they would keep him there and work him into their schedule. Once they got a chance to look at his toenail, they would decide if they could fix it quickly or if it would require sedation, and they would let me know.
Charlie wasn’t exactly happy with this situation (he hates the vet, a lot), but I dropped him off and went home, waiting for their phone call.
