Your Grandma’s Hands

“I have my grandma’s
hands,” you said, fixed on wrinkles
belying your age,

But the hands I hold
hold my heart past years to come,
the hands that I love.

You have your grandma’s hands,
Your mother’s eyes,
Your father’s smile,
And when you hug me
Your whole family embraces me
In love and caring.
