  • Liquid Group raised series C at $1B+ valuation led by IDG Capital, participated by Bitmain — Link

They said they will focus on development for its existing services and STO platform. This holding company owns QUOINE, which operates a licensed cryptocurrency exchange in Japan.

💱Exchanges

  • Coincheck has launched OTC trading service for large size customers — Link

Their OTC trading desk will allow customers to buy and sell a minimum of 50 bitcoins on weekdays between 10 am and 3 pm local time.

👩‍🎓Academics

  • Keio University will start a blockchain course “Beyond Blockchain basic/applied“ from this April with the professor Jun Murai and Kenji Saito sponsored by Ceres, Inc. — Link(JP)

📖Regulation

  • International crypto AML regulation framework will be discussed and established during G20 Summit at Fukuoka, Japan in this June — Link

👋Meetups / Events

  • Teamz Conference on April 6–7th. — Link
  • Deconomy was held in Seoul on April 4–5th and several Japanese community members participated. — Link

Nao Kitazawa, the CEO of Coinbase Japan spoke on a panel, NodeTokyo became a Japan partner, and several top Japanese developers and media attended.

  • April 9th: Web3 Foundation and CryptoAge to organize “Tokyo DOT day” at DMMcom HQ office. — Link

Ethereum co-founder Gavin Wood from Parity / Web3 Foundation and several other core developers will provide tech talks for developers in Japan.
