Before digging into the creators, I would like to note that people who are trying to understand Autism Spectrum Disorder and support the community should not use the organization Autism Speaks as a reliable source. The organization’s logo is a blue puzzle piece, which implies that autistic people have a piece missing. It spreads misinformation and fear mongers and for these reasons and more, the majority of the autistic community advises staying away from Autism Speaks. Instead, please listen to actual autistic creators, starting with the ones below!

Paige Layle @paigelayle

Paige Layle (she/they) has over 2 million followers and makes videos on topics such as autism and mental disorders. She has a series about autism in girls which explores how the diagnosis for autism is geared towards boys or how girls are underrepresented in the community because of gender-based social roles. Make sure you give them a follow on their TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.

Naia @naiab1005

Naia (she/her) is a Black queer creator who makes videos about neurodivergence and disability. She is close to reaching 30K followers. The autistic creator community can look very white because of underrepresentation, so please boost and follow Black and Brown creators such as Naia as well!

Rain @raincloud.heart

Rain (she/they) is an autistic creator nearing 100K followers. She is known for her beautiful fairy-core aesthetic and fun yet informative videos about autism and neurodivergence.

Dani @lafilledani

Dani (she/they) is a late-diagnosed autistic adult who focuses on intersectionality within the autistic community. Their account currently has around 128K followers. As a woman of color, Dani believes it’s important to boost marginalized voices and recognize that there is a diversity on the spectrum itself.

Tam Rachelle @livingwithlilac

Tamara is a Black TikTok creator and the mother of Lilac, an 11-year-old girl who has autism and a global developmental delay. Tamara posts videos about her and her daughter and addresses misconceptions about autism as well as intersectional challenges. Many of their videos are also just about family, so definitely check out their page!

Eiza Wolfe @eizawolfe

Eiza (she/her) is an autistic creator nearing 200K followers (let’s get her there)! She makes “relatable” format videos for people with autism, eating disorders, or other mental disorders. Be sure to follow and leave likes!

Logan @logan.schmogan

Logan (he/him) is a musician with Autism. He makes videos not only about neurodivergence but also music and other TikTok trends. He calls himself the “CEO of spoons” because he is able to create music and beats with just a pair of kitchen spoons! Go check him out!

Emily @stimmygirl
