The need for Artificial Intelligence (AI) is accelerating across all sectors and industries. This acceleration brings with it an urgency for AI to become accessible, affordable, and customized to any given particular use-case. Unfortunately, off-the-shelf AI modules are not adequately suited to the specificities of each use-case, with very few businesses able to hire teams large enough to deal with their AI needs, or with adequate funding to hire AI expertise elsewhere.

The necessity for customized AI solutions sets the precedent for our partnership with SingularityNet, and the growth of a partner ecosystem at the intersection of complex data models and AI.

SingularityNET will provide the AI services required for autonomous economic agents, while Weeve will provide the attestation technology and infrastructure necessary for the development of truly decentralized and secure data marketplaces. The intersection will allow for the development of AI services upon a secure and attested data layer.

Background on SingularityNET and Weeve

The partnership originates from a mutual appreciation for deep tech by Weeve co-founder and CTO, Prof. Dr. Sebastian Gajek, and SingularityNET CTO and Chief Scientist, Dr. Ben Goertzel, and the mutual necessity to deliver AI as a service(AIaaS).

SingularityNET, based in Amsterdam, is building a platform for a decentralized Artificial Intelligence (AI) economy. Essentially, they transform AI into AI as a Service (AIaaS). SingularityNET lets anyone create, share, and monetize AI services at scale. Led by Dr. Ben Goertzel, the team includes seasoned engineers, scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs, and marketers. Their in-house tech team is complemented by a dedicated team at Hanson Robotics pursuing intelligent SingularityNET-based robotics, a dedicated team at Mozi Health pursuing SingularityNET-based biomedical AI, and a dedicated AI Applications team at iCog Labs in Addis Ababa. As one of its use-cases, SingularityNET released Sophia, the world’s most expressive robot. Sophia uses a multitude of AI modules to show empathy and display facial expressions.
Weeve, based in Berlin, is building a decentralized platform to transform IoT data into tradeable digital assets. Weeve uses patented cryptographic technologies to attest data (i.e. certify the originating source, harvest, process, transport etc. of ‘digital assets’ to the blockchain for trading) and curates a platform for entities to deploy novel data monetization services based on this certified data. Cryptoeconomic incentive mechanisms are used to incentivize users to supply high-quality data for the powering of autonomous machine-to-machine trades within the Economy of Things. Their core team includes IoT industry veterans, startup incubators, professors, and top-tier engineers.

What are the goals of the partnership?

Weeve’s technical architecture, as depicted in the diagram above, demonstrates the necessity of AI in the innovative machine economy in transforming attested data into a digital asset. The partnership plays up individual strengths in a multi-layered approach:
