Objective
This week, we focused on narrowing down on our concepts, defining our criteria for the project, and starting to plan for prototyping +research at the new hotel.
Actions
Converging our ideas
To narrow down, we placed our ideas on post-its and clustered them into groups to find patterns and form larger concepts. Once the team had a unified vision of the concepts, we dot-voted on our favorite ones.
Hotel Opening!
Tiles Madeira Hotel officially launched this week! The team joined the opening event and enjoyed the beautiful nightscape of the hotel while sipping on some Madeiran cocktails.
Story Mapping
Next, to get a better understanding of how our concepts might fit into a guest’s experience, we story mapped the journey flow of our target persona. After we broke down guest’s goals into tasks and subtasks, we began to discuss how each concept could exist in the flow and identified opportunities to meld ideas.
Visioning for the Future
After our check-in with our project mentors, our team decided to take a step back and revisit visioning of what the future hotel experience might be like, as well as defining what a successful capstone project looks like to all of us.
