The little paths running about my small garden are mulched!

I usually use wood chips from the city piles at the edge of town. The chips from trees trimmed by the city. But this year the chips were mixed with branches and stems. So I purchased bags of hardwood mulch.

It’s been a dry Spring — a drought in my area. Last year was a dry year as well. The mulch will help keep plant roots moist and cozy. The earthworms will be happy too.

I’m fussy about what I purchase. A few years ago I bought mulch from a big box store and it smelled of chemicals and had chunks of tin and plastic in it.

Now if I purchase I investigate the source — and pay what’s necessary.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
Katie
