A couple of weeks ago we put the first version of Thington out into the world and the response has been wonderful. Loads of you have downloaded the app, set up your things and have let us know that you’re enjoying the experience.

We’ve also had loads of feedback about the features that you particularly like, bugs you’ve found (and which we’ve tried to fix as quickly as possible) and other devices that you’d like us to support.

More than anything else, you’ve been asking us for integration with LIFX bulbs. So we went to talk to our friends at LIFX last week and today Thington 💘 LIFX!

LIFX make some of the easiest to set-up and use smart bulbs on the planet. They come in two sizes (standard A19 and BR30) and two major types — the Color 1000 range can display millions of colors and a thousand shades of white, whereas the White 800/900 range offers 1000 shades of dimmable warm and cool whites with an output of 890–950 lumens.

They’re perfect for creating a fun mood in your home, for brightening up grey days or for making your home feel warm and cosy in the evenings. And they have built in Wi-Fi so they don’t even need a hub. Just buy the bulb, set it up with your phone and you’re ready to go.

If you already have some LIFX bulbs set up and want to add them to Thington, it’s super easy. Just update to the latest version from the App Store, go to the ‘Your Profile’ tab in the Thington app and look down until you see the ‘Add a new thing’ button. Once you tap on it, you’ll see a list of all the devices you can add to Thington. Tap on LIFX and just follow the instructions! You can add your LIFX bulbs to any of our rules that use lights too.

And if you haven’t got any LIFX bulbs yet but are interested in getting some, we have links to all the things we support over at the Thington shop.

We hope you really enjoy using LIFX bulbs inside Thington, and as usual, if you have any questions or comments about Thington, how we work with LIFX (or if there are other devices that you would really like us to integrate with) don’t hestitate to e-mail us at hi@thington.com or ask us a question at @thingtonhq.

xx Your friends at Thington.
