Who doesn’t love a good skincare routine? We all do. But ask yourself, how many times a week do I actually complete this skincare routine that I paid over £100 to have in my collection? Many of us women, due to long hours or too many commitments, find ourselves neglecting what is most important….a few minutes of the day to unwind and feel fresh before getting into bed. So let’s look at some of the most popular women’s professions and see what skincare/ haircare/ beauty tips and advice can be used within these specific professions.

Using information from Inhersights, 40-female dominated careers, let’s begin with focusing our advice on some of these professions and see what guidance can be given. Maybe one of these professions is your chosen or future job path!

  1. Nurses (87.4% of nurses in the USA are female)- regularly apply moisturiser to hands. Long shifts with regular use of hand sanitiser or soap can cause extreme dryness. A rich moisturiser should be applied before bed to soak into every inch of your skin.
  2. Dental practitioners (95.1% in the USA are female)- due to long hours of wearing surgical face masks, rashes and soreness can develop. Drinking plenty of water is one of the best ways to keep your skin healthy from the inside out. Water or collagen powder, more information on collagen can be found here, are great ways to ensure your skin can remain as healthy as possible throughout these long shifts of wearing masks.
  3. Receptionists (90% in the USA are female)- A beautifully positioned desk in natural sunlight is putting you at risk of skin cancer by the minute. Applying sunscreen everyday is essential. More information can be found here.
  4. Hairdressers (92.4% in the USA are female)- Many hairdressers end their careers with skin diseases on their hands, caused by years of working with irritating products such as hair dye. Gloves can limit any exposure and damage caused to the skin on your hands.
  5. Nursery teachers (96.8% in the USA are female)- with so much bacteria in this workplace, becoming sick is inevitable. Taking daily vitamins will build your immune system to keep you stronger for longer and powering through the school year.
  6. Event planners (82% in the USA are female)- anyone with a stressful job can relate to work stress wrinkles. In this case retinol should be considered to reduce signs of ageing or any fine lines.
  7. Data entry keyers (76.2% in the USA are female)- whilst hours staring at a computer screen can damage or strain eyes and their vision, blue light glasses should be considered whilst screen time increases.
  8. Legal assistants (84.4% in the USA are female) — long hours inside have been seen to have negative effects. Just 9 minutes of sunlight per day have been seen to have enormous effects on our mood, read my previous article here to find out more about the hormone boost.

Whilst these are only 8 of some women-led professions in the USA and also across the world, many skincare/ beauty/ haircare tips can be carried through to many different career paths.

What should be taken from this article is the importance of looking after our health and keeping our body full of love, life and youth to carry us to the next chapter in our lives.
