As momentum builds for Wemark’s launch and token sale, we’re excited to welcome Miguel Forbes to our prestigious team of advisors. Forbes brings decades of financial and media expertise, and his experience with publishing, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy makes him a great fit.
Miguel joined Forbes in 1996, co-founding Forbes.com where he still writes about finance and entrepreneurship. His voluminous accomplishments at Forbes Media include launching nine international editions of Forbes Magazine — where he was appointed VP of Business Development in 2000 — and launching Western Europe’s first local edition of Forbes in Spain, Western Europe’s first local edition.
Until recently, Miguel served as President of Worldwide Development at Forbes, continuing his mission to globalize the brand’s presence and impact.
Miguel’s accomplishments extend beyond the legacy he build with Forbes — he’s an active philanthropist and champion of entrepreneurship. In 2005, Miguel became a Young Global Leader, a division of the World Economic Forum, in 2010, he raised $1.2 Million for charity through the annual Forbes 400 Charity Poker Tournament, and in 2013, was appointed to the New York University President’s Global Council, where he advises on opportunities to advance the University’s global mission.
Historically, publishers like Forbes.com have been huge consumers of stock photography — from conceptual photographs illustrating different concepts, to photos related to the latest news. Publishers are central to the distribution of digital content. Miguel’s rich experience — as a publisher and entrepreneur in the digital media space, makes him a vital addition to Wemark’s advisory board.
Miguel knows how to build a brand and effortlessly bring like-minded individuals together for the common good. His breadth of experience and first-hand understanding of publishers’ needs add a unique angle to our board, which will be invaluable to our customers and contributors alike.
Welcome, Miguel!
