Dominance Token Transition Notice -Transition of WEMIX Classic to oWEMIX

Since the launch of WEMIX 3.0 Network on October 20th, 2022, WEMIX has been operating with two native tokens: WEMIX Classic as the native token on the Cypress Chain of Klaytn and WEMIX as the native coin on WEMIX3.0. The bilateral operation involves a ‘Lock and Release’ mechanism, enabling WEMIX Classic tokens and WEMIX coins to be bridged across both networks via the Multichain Bridge.

However, we have recognized that the exchange mechanism of these two native tokens, managed by accurate yet complex monitoring policies, has caused difficulties for our community and investors, leading to occasional confusion and misunderstandings.

To address this, the WEMIX team has cooperated with the WONDER8, specifically utilizing their reliable Orbit Bridge, to support bridging through Wrapped WEMIX using the ‘Lock and Mint’ approach, which has demonstrated stable performance and seamless bridging experience between the two networks.

As a result, we have decided to gradually transition WEMIX Classic, supported throughout the Klaytn(WONDER23) ecosystem, into oWEMIX through the Orbit Bridge. This decision aims to;

• resolve the community’s confusion caused by the coexistence of WEMIX and WEMIX Classic and,
• to facilitate a more straightforward and accurate management of WEMIX’s circulation by adopting a unified monitoring system for WEMIX coins.

The transition procedure of WEMIX Classic to oWEMIX is as follows:

• WEMIX Classic can be converted to oWEMIX at a 1:1 ratio through the KLAYswap, without any additional transaction fees apart from gas fees on the Klaytn network.
• WEMIX can be bridged between the two networks(WEMIX3.0 and Klaytn) through the Orbit Bridge in the form of WEMIX and oWEMIX at any time.
• DApps utilizing WEMIX Classic as a primary liquidity source within the Klaytn ecosystem will be gradually supplied with oWEMIX, and trading incentives will transition from WEMIX Classic to oWEMIX.
• Once the dominance of token circulation on the Klaytn network shifts from WEMIX Classic to oWEMIX, liquidity support for WEMIX Classic will be discontinued and the deposit/withdrawal of WEMIX Classic to supported exchanges will also be discontinued.
• However, WEMIX Classic will still continue to be convertible to oWEMIX.

We will be sharing the procedures and guidelines for the transition of the dominance token within the WEMIX ecosystem and DApp will be communicated through forthcoming announcements.

이에 WONDER23, 클레이튼 생태계를 지원하는 위믹스를 오르빗 브릿지를 통한 oWEMIX로 점진적으로 전환하기로 하였습니다. 이를 통해,

• 위믹스와 위믹스클래식이 혼용됨에 따라 커뮤니티가 느끼던 혼란스러움을 해소하고,
• 위믹스의 유통량에 있어서 위믹스 코인 단일 모니터링 시스템으로 전환함으로써 더욱 쉽고 정확하게 유통량을 관리하고자 합니다.

oWEMIX로의 전환은 아래와 같이 이루어집니다.

• 현재 위믹스클래식은 KLAYswap을 통해 oWEMIX로 1:1 전환이 가능합니다. 가스비 이외의 별도의 거래 수수료가 부과되지 않습니다.
• 위믹스3.0과 클레이튼은 오르빗브릿지를 통해 언제든지 위믹스와 oWEMIX로 양방향 브릿징이 가능합니다.
• 클레이튼 생태계에서 위믹스클래식을 주요 유동성으로 이용하는 디앱에는 oWEMIX 유동성이 공급되며, 점진적으로 거래 인센티브가 위믹스클래식에서 oWEMIX로 이동합니다.
• 클레이튼의 유통우위(dominance)가 oWEMIX로 전환되면, 위믹스 클래식에 대한 유동성 또는 거래소 입출금 지원이 중단됩니다.
• 그럼에도 불구하고, 위믹스클래식은 언제든지 oWEMIX로 전환이 가능합니다.

이후 위믹스 생태계의 플랫폼과 디앱에서의 해당 도미넌스 토큰 전환의 절차와 안내는 각각의 후속공지를 통해 알려드릴 예정입니다.
