Meme Marketing: A new career option?

“Go digital or go home”! It has been the attitude of most of the GenZ. Trend-watchers and marketers are always on the lookout for what’s new. And why not? Social Media is poised to hold an even more important role in Marketing the product online in a breeze. Isn’t it strange that marketers are more mature and leading players are battling for dominance? If you feel so, then this means that for a brand to stand out amidst an ocean of other brands, it needs a clever and catchy marketing strategy.
Agree or not, fortunately or sadly, meme is one such strategy. So, here we present “Meme Marketing”. Meme resonates well, especially with younger audiences or GenZ as they claim. Memes help marketers visually associate their brands with a clever message in a very subtle manner. Humourous and quirky images/lines help enhance the brand’s image. A successful or a viral meme can sometimes read out a very large message. Handsdown!
Meme marketing can never be overdone until there is a new purpose attached to a product. A meme is not supposed to be an advertisement or promotion of a brand. It is expected to engage users with a brand by being funny, clever and quirky in a very fine way. The best way a brand can do this is by precisely going crisp, short and to the point and not beat around the bush.
Lastly, Meme Marketing is successful if only the idea is relatable to the audience to meet the requirements and that can then make an impact on a wide audience. Memes work better than most of the sales or branded content in the feed. If they are relatable to the audience, in the form of entertainment, chances of them resulting in CTA are higher.
All said, we can’t say if meme marketing is a career option to choose, but hey! If you are a Meme Marketer, we love what you do!
