It’s summer time. A perfect weather for going out. But Mary could only stay home and did her homework. She wanted to go to movie with her friends in class. There was a new movie coming up today. Her mom pushed the door of her bedroom and came in with a cup of tea and some cookies in hands, signaling her to have some.

“Um.” She replied, lazy to speak out any word.

Her mother remembered the last time she corrected her attitude and they got into a fight, so she just left her room quietly.

Why did she have to stay home and do the homework while other classmates could go out? Well, it was hard to blame anyone. She spent the whole summer vacation traveling abroad with her family.

Looking at the math assignment, “er…” she didn’t really know how to solve it. Upset and depressed, she decided to call Brian, the one who always helped her with math questions. She called and waited.

Before she started, Brian finished his sentences, saying he’s really busy right now and needed to go. “Oh.” said she. Looking out from the window at the blue sky, Mary knew she could only rely on herself now. If she didn’t finish it today, tomorrow would be the same day.

Ok, this topic was EXTREMELY hard for me since I have never be trained to write stories. In Chinese, it is already difficult, not to mention English. Guess I have to read some English story books to learn.

The “Wendy’s 642 Things to Write About “ project is a self writing plan based on 642 Things to Write About by the San Francisco Writers’ Grotto. If you are interested in this series, please clap or leave a comment. All the articles in this project is free. But if you want to read my own perspective or stories in my country, Taiwan, here are the latest ones: The Difficulties of Being a Taiwanese in 21th
