It’s 5:00 PM in Las Ramblas, Barcelona, Spain. Las Ramblas is one of Barcelona’s most popular tourist destinations. A white van can be seen driving down a road. It suddenly starts ramming into thousands of shoppers, tourists and residents..

How it started:

A white van careered into thousands of shoppers, tourists and residents in Spain on Thursday afternoon. Instantly, it was a scene of panic. People ran in to shops that started closing their shutters to protect the people inside. A heavy police presence was already active, and many eyewitnesses say police started shouting “run!”. There was screaming, and the whole crowd ran towards the end of the street, Las Ramblas. The van hit people for about 700 yards before it came for a stop. The man escaped on foot. Barcelona Police claim one arrest has been made linked to the attack.

How it unfolded from then on:

It’s around 5:15 PM. Local Spanish media have started broadcasting. In Britain, BBC News starts a special about it called “BBC News Special: Barcelona Attack”. Local Spanish media claim 2 armed men have entered a bar just off of Las Ramblas and are holding people hostage. There is now 1 confirmed death. (😢). Spanish National Police deploy hundreds of Barcelona Police forcemen/women into Las Ramblas. It’s around 5:30 PM. Half an hour after the attack. Parimedics are treating injured ones, and local British media now claims 13 have died. Barcelona Police refuse to accept the rise. It’s around 6:00 PM. Barcelona Police have evacuated Las Ramblas, and are continuing too block off the entrance. They have now confirmed there is no one being held hostage in a bar. The death toll is now confirmed to be 13, with the number of injured ones reaching 50. It’s around 7:00 PM. The British Prime Minister, Theresa May, and the President of the United States, Donald Trump, both make a brief speach stating they are hand in hand with Spain against terrorisim. The French President, Emmanuel Macron, makes a brief statement as well. THE FOLLOWING DAY: Sadly, the death toll has now rised to 14. (😢). Another attempted terrorist attack in Cambrils. However, this time, Cambrils State Police manage to catch the terrorists. 1 police officer was killed. (WeNews believes) It’s now the morning in Britain. Spanish National Police have released a statement saying that have killed several people in links to the Barcelona terror attack and the Cambrils attempted attack.

The Cambrils Attack: A brief runover

So, what happened in Cambrils? We don’t really know that much. However, yet again, a vehicle (a car, this time) was used to ram into people. However, they failed on their first attempt. By now, a police patrol is called to try and stop the vehicle. WeNews has reason to believe 1 police officer was killed in the stop.
