Bem Vindo — or welcome — to our very first Medium post. We will use this blog as a platform to keep you in the loop with company and trip updates directly from We Roam HQ, as well as from our Roamers themselves. This will be a very collaborative space to help provide some insight into what We Roam is all about, who our Roamers are and the adventures we will be sharing! Feel free to chime in, ask questions, suggest topics, but most importantly, enjoy following us on our progress around world.

Buenos Aires Recap

Buenos Aires marked the launch of the We Roam Polaris Tour, our inaugural trip. On January 7th, 30 Roamers flew in to join us on our first stop — Buenos Aires, Argentina. Roamers from all over the world packed up their lives into 2 suitcases, each under 50 pounds of course (ya right..) to board their one-way flight to South America.

With plenty of great moments and events both in and out of the workspace, we did our best to narrow it down to a few highlights. Here is a glimpse into We Roam’s January stay in Buenos Aires, Argentina:

While the bustling streets of Palermo were full of activity…

Some Roamers were in Mendoza, wandering through the vineyards.

Oh, there was plenty of Malbec.

And steak…

And you can’t leave out some local choripán (chorizo + bread)!

Plenty of great restaurants and bars scattered across Palermo to enjoy.

We got involved with some volunteer work for an new, local organization - Pinta Argentina.

Not only did the wall turn out beautiful, but some hands did too!

February Preview- Florianópolis, Brazil

Next stop… Florianópolis! Locally known as ‘Floripa’, our next location is home to a thriving tech and startup scene as well as world-renowned beaches with endless amounts of activities. While we were able to get our feet wet at some of BA’s rooftop pools and swim around in El Tigre river, it’s safe to say that the group is excited to hit the beaches of Brazil and sneak in some quality beach time after a solid day’s work. Whether tanning, surfing, playing beach volleyball or sipping caipirinhas while people-watching on the best beaches Brazil has to offer, Floripa really does have it all.

With a new month and a new country, we want to extend a warm welcome to 3 new Roamers joining us in Floripa- Dvir from Israel, Lydia from The Netherlands, and Iman from the US. The group is very excited to have you join!

We already have new Roamers signed-up to join Polaris in the coming months and will continue adding people throughout the year! If you are interested in joining our current trip (Polaris), or our next trip Orion/Solis, you can apply here!
