About the Author

Akash Pasricha is an M.S. Candidate at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. He is focused on business journalism, pursuing a master’s thesis on the psychedelics industry in Oregon.

Originally from Toronto, Akash has published work in Canada’s Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, and Financial Post Magazine. He hosts the podcast Spotlight on the Six, featuring the work of outstanding Torontonians, and acclaimed as one of Toronto’s best upcoming podcasts by Hot Docs Festival.

Akash has covered Canadian tech startups in San Francisco, the Toronto Raptors, and New York City’s public transportation network. He also covered the 2020 Presidential Election, travelling to New York City, Philadelphia, and Wilmington.

Akash has interviewed CEOs, entrepreneurs, activists, and artists across various industries. Notable interviews include those with Kathleen Taylor (Chair of the Board of Royal Bank of Canada, and former CEO of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts) and George Stroumboulopoulos (Canadian television host).

Previously, Akash was a strategy consultant at Deloitte, having advised corporate clients in mining, financial services, retail, and education. He is a graduate of the Ivey Business School (HBA) and Queen’s University (BSc, Life Sciences).

Akash lives in New York City, and in his spare time, he often feeds the pigeon family that resides just outside his apartment window.
