It is our first installment of Player of the Week here at West of the Pond. Our goal is to give you some insight into who the Player of the Week is each and every week.

In order to be POTW we take a few different things into consideration. The most important of those things is your opinion. We will run a weekly poll on our Twitter @westofthepond where you can vote and express you opinions. Be sure to join us for that.

Along with your opinions we use a combination of our witty analysis (not always that witty) and the scoring system at whoscored.com. This combination allows us to give you the best possible four players from the past week in every Premier League week during the season.

The ultimate goal is to keep you informed and it can also help us pick the best players at the end of each season. Now let’s get to it.

In our first edition of Player of the Week we have a White Heart Lane native in Harry Kane.

Kane managed two goals against Everton helping the Hotspurs to three points, moving up the ladder of the Premier League.

Kane’s first goal came after a world-class strike to open up his account on the evening. His second goal came after Tottenham pressured the Everton defense into a blunder of a mistake where Kane was able to capitalize and score.

For Tottenham they have moved into second place on the Premier League table. They now sit ten points behind leaders Chelsea. Harry Kane is also leading the Premier League in goals scored as he edges Everton’s Lukaku by one, sitting at 19 total goals scored.

With Harry Kane’s play and resilience at the forward position, Tottenham continues to look like a top team in the Premier League this season. All hopes of winning a championship and remaining in top four are not solely reliant on Kane but definitely center around his abilities.
