A Contributor’s Guide to KYC Verification on WeStart

Have you participated in pre-sales, ICOs, or airdrops?

If you’re reading this, we’re pretty sure you have — or at least are interested.

But with the increasing amount of token generation events, governments and financial institutions have started to heavily regulate and put restrictions on contributors and projects.

To ensure compliance, projects have started running KYC/AML checks with all of their contributors. We’ve already covered the importance of running KYC for both projects and their contributors, so today we’re diving into how WeStart’s platform works for contributors and how to complete your Tier 2 and Tier 3 verification to whitelist to every project hosted on WeStart.

Registering for WeStart

WeStart’s platform makes contributing to top token projects safe, simple, and secure. To create an account you simply need to sign up with your full name and email. With this, you’ve completed Tier 1 verification and are on your way to being a fully compliant contributor to the various projects hosted on WeStart.

However, to participate in most projects, Tier 2 or Tier 3 verification are required which take only a few minutes to complete.

Completing Tier 2 KYC/AML on WeStart

Tier 2 verification requires users to submit a few additional pieces of information including your birthday, nationality, a copy of your government-issued ID, and a clear photo of you holding your government-issue ID along with a piece of paper that states “Westart” and the date of your submission.

To ensure your Tier 2 verification gets processed in a timely manner, we suggest the following tips:

• If you have a passport, please use this as your form of identification.
• If you don’t have a government-issued passport, please provide another form of government identification like a valid state identification.
• Ensure all photos are high-quality including the front and back of your identification and the selfie you take with your identification.
• If your Tier 2 Verification fails, it is often due to the selfie you take with your identification. Please make sure the photo is high-resolution and large enough to view all details on your id. All photos must be under 3mb to be accepted — you can shrink file size using online tools if necessary.
• Double check all information prior to submitting as even one small typo can cause your verification to fail and require resubmission.

You will be notified within 48 hours on whether your Tier 2 verification has been approved.

Completing Tier 3 KYC/AML on WeStart

To ensure you can whitelist for any project, we highly suggest completing Tier 3 verification. Tier 3 verification requires additional information including proof of residency and a phone number. As well as being able to participate in any project hosted on WeStart, Tier 3 verification also allows you to participate and host your own private pools on WeStart’s SmartPool.

If your Tier 3 verification fails, it is usually due to supplying the wrong type of proof of residency. We only accept an utility bill or a bank statement with your full name and address on the document. Please make sure the picture is clear and complete and features the name of the utility company or bank you’re using.

Some other helpful hints to submitting your Tier 3 Verification:

• Your proof of residency must be less than 3 months old — meaning a date must be visible on the utility bill or bank statement you provide
• Your full address and name must be clearly visible
• You must provide a phone number that can receive text messages as we will send you a verification code immediately after entering your phone number.

You will be notified via email once your Tier 3 verification is complete.
