The Socialchallenges.eu project continues to go from strength to strength. The platform strives to create a marketplace where social challenges can be addressed by powerful and innovative solution providers from across Europe.

The Platform supports committed Public Authorities, Private Companies, Third Sector Organisations in defining, prioritising social and environmental challenges, and uploading them onto the platform.

In turn, it encourages the participation of social innovators, start-ups and SMEs to identify, fund, co-develop and test concrete solutions to address these needs.

Cerqana is a WestBIC supported company which seeks to improve the autonomy and social inclusion of seniors and dependent people, empowering and allowing them to be part of their communities. It adapts any smartphone to their specific capabilities and adds a set of new features that allow relatives or caregivers to check on their wellbeing remotely.

Cerqana successfully pitched to address three separate challenges in Cyprus, Portugal and France and will soon be working on the delivery of one of these projects.

Socialchallenges.eu provides €30,000 grants and dedicated support, focused on the translation of at least 27 challenges into 81 practical and marketable solutions for a total value of €2,430,000.
