It is with mixed emotions that we announce the completion of the extended Atlantic Digital Startup Academy (ADSA) project. We would like to express our gratitude to all those who have been part of this remarkable journey over the past few years, contributing immensely to the success of ADSA.

Each of the project partners showed unwavering support, shared learning, and collaborative efforts throughout this project, resulting in strong relationships and connections between our ecosystems that will endure long after ADSA. We extend our appreciation to the 50+ Business Support Organisations who actively participated as stakeholders, engaging in study visits, capacity building sessions, and most notably, providing invaluable support to our companies as they pursued internationalization. For Business Support Organisations we leave behind a valuable resource in our library of best practices, training manuals and the case studies we have gathered over the last 5 years — these can be accessed at https://atlanticdigitalstartups.eu/

Above all, we extend our deepest gratitude to the 200+ startups who infused ADSA with their energy, innovation, and ambition. Your active participation in workshops, events, mentor sessions, and partner meetings has been instrumental in shaping the success of this initiative. We eagerly look forward to continuing our relationships with all of you, and who knows, perhaps a new project may be on the horizon!

Dublin Tech Summit 2023

ADSA partners and startups were delighted to return to Dublin Tech Summit this year (May 31-June 1), having previously attended in 2019. The Irish tech sector is in a strong position and the country is the European base for numerous tech giants from the US and around the world. 19 ADSA startups attended, representing each of the partner countries. DTS is one of Europe’s fastest growing tech festivals and this year attracted an impressive crowd of 8,000 attendees, representing 70 different nationalities from around the world.

Over the course of two days, participants were treated to a diverse array of panels, talks, and keynote presentations delivered by 200 speakers. Additionally, the event featured 100 start-ups and even showcased the presence of three AI robots, adding a unique technological flair.

The timing of this tech conference was particularly significant, given the recent contraction in the industry and the mixture of excitement and apprehension surrounding the rapid advancements in AI. These topics sparked extensive discussions among the ADSA attendees, and how they respond to the opportunities and challenges presented will have a major impact on their internationalization prospects.

Supporting the Internationalization of Digital Startups

As part of ADSA’s work to develop the capacity to support internationalization in our local ecosystems, CEEI Bahía de Cádiz recently hosted an online capacity building programme titled Supporting the Internationalization of Digital Startups. This was specifically designed for Business Support organizations. The programme featured four inspiring success stories that highlighted the internationalization journeys of an EdTech Startup, a GreenTech Startup, a HealthTech Startup, and a BlueTech Startup.

This dynamic programme was divided into four engaging online sessions, offering participants a valuable opportunity to not only learn about various support methodologies for startup internationalization but also gain insights from the success stories shared in these four sectors. Additionally, participants had the chance to exchange experiences and knowledge drawing from their own regional support endeavors.

The program received an overwhelmingly positive response, with a total of 100 participants attending all four sessions. Among them, 67 individuals were unique attendees specifically enrolled in this online capacity building program.

All sessions were recorded, and the comprehensive learning materials, including PowerPoint presentations and success stories, are now accessible for future participants interested in the program here.
