Good evening, everyone! Tonight will feature clearing skies and cold temperatures. Lows will range from 9 to 18 degrees.

Sunday expect clear skies for much of the morning with high clouds filtering into western areas during the afternoon and evening hours. It’ll be dry, with highs ranging from 34 to 43 degrees, just slightly cooler than today.

Sunday night clouds will increase and light mixed precipitation will enter the area after midnight. Sleet and freezing rain will give way to rain pretty quickly early Monday across southern areas. Northern areas will hold onto sleet/freezing rain through much of Monday. More info on that in the next paragraph. Lows Sunday night will range from 26 to 35 degrees.

As we start the day Monday precipitation will be ongoing for much of the area. A light mix of sleet and freezing rain is possible for many, and may make for slick spots away from the coastline for the Monday morning commute. However, by the afternoon hours, much of the frozen or mixed precipitation should retreat to interior northwestern or eastern areas, with a southeast wind allowing for warming south. The map below depicts where I think slippery conditions will be Monday morning, and where they will exist Monday morning through Monday afternoon. High temperatures Monday will range from 28 to 42 degrees. Steadiest precipitation will pull out of the area Monday evening, though a light mix may remain north.

Update: I’ve updated the maps to include slick areas Monday morning and Monday afternoon, expected freezing rain accretion (ice accumulation), and snowfall. Another update to follow this evening.
