Warm & Humid Today and Thursday, Strong Thunderstorms Possible Thursday Afternoon through Friday Morning, Especially Northwest
Good morning, everyone! Today expect mostly sunny conditions with the exception being northeast portions of the area where clouds and showers are possible. High temperatures will range from 75 to 84 degrees, warmest west and coolest near the midcoast.
Tonight expect mostly clear skies with showers clearing out of northeastern zones by midnight. Lows will range from 56 to 65 degrees.
Thursday will be the hottest day for a while across the area with many inland zones expected to reach 90 degrees. Dew points will be bearable across northern zones, but southern zones should reach the mid 60s. This will add humidity into the mix, so it’s important to stay hydrated during the day Thursday especially if working outdoors. Highs will range from 83 to 92 degrees.
Thursday afternoon thunderstorms will begin to form west of the area. These storms will gradually make their way into northern/western sections late Thursday afternoon/early Thursday evening. A few could be strong, with damaging winds and large hail possible. By the time these storms push south and east, they should weaken, but southern zones won’t be immune to an isolated strong storm either.
Another round of showers and storms will move through Thursday night, but these will have less instability to work with so no severe weather is expected at this time other than a rumble of thunder and maybe a brief downpour. Low temperatures Thursday night will range from 58 to 67 degrees.
Temperatures will rise back into the lower 80s south Friday morning before falling back through the 70s in the afternoon.
Have a great day!
