Warm Weather Continues Through Saturday, Flood Threat Continues
Good afternoon, everyone! The first half of tonight will be mostly clear, with clouds increasing from southwest to northeast Friday morning. Low temperatures will hover around or just above freezing for most. Lows will range from 32 to 41 degrees.
Friday clouds will increase from the southwest and much of the area will be mostly cloudy by 1 PM. It’s expected that scattered showers will move through the area beginning southwest in the morning and ending northeast in the evening. A rumble of thunder is possible. Highs will be a few degrees lower than today due to cloud cover, but many should still make it into the 50s. Highs will range from 46 to 55 degrees.
Friday night clouds and showers will continue across the area. The entire area should remain above freezing. Lows will range from 33 to 42 degrees.
Saturday mostly cloudy conditions and isolated showers will continue, especially near the mountains. A rumble of thunder is also possible in any shower. Highs will be a few degrees warmer than Friday, ranging from 44 to 60 degrees. Coldest north, warmest interior southwest.
Saturday night a cold front will move through the area, bringing a period of rain. Expect the heaviest rain northwest, with more showery weather common south and east. A rumble of thunder is possible. Expect remaining showers across the north to change to snow after midnight, with southern areas seeing things clear out after midnight, only isolated snow showers remaining by morning.
Since locally heavy rain is possible in these showers/periods of precipitation early Saturday night, that’s when the flood threat will be highest, especially north, where the snowpack remains deep. The highest threat of flooding is on the rivers, where ice jams could cause downstream flooding. However, poor drainage areas may also flood. Though the threat is highest north, it can’t be ruled out south either. Lows Friday night will range from 24 to 37 degrees.
Temperatures will rise back above freezing south on Sunday, while remaining below the 32 degree mark north. Scattered snow showers remain possible in the morning, especially near the mountains. Highs will range from 23 to 41 degrees, coldest north, warmest southwest.
Sunday night clouds will gradually move into northern areas, as well as light snow/snow showers. Southern areas should remain dry and clear. Lows will range from 18 to 27 degrees.
Monday morning clouds will gradually increase for all, with a mostly cloudy day looking likely for everyone. Snow showers/light snow will continue in the mountains during the morning, before clearing out in the afternoon. Southern areas appear to remain mostly dry. Highs will range from 32 to 51 degrees. Coldest temperatures will be north, with a sharp increase as you head southwest.
Have a great evening and watch the forecast for potential river flooding through next week!
