When comparing the tuition growth across the US, there are a few that stick out. Ohio, in particular, feels like an outlier. Tuition fees have slightly decreased, showing a -2% drop. What’s more interesting is Ohio is the only state to show a decrease. The only states to come close include Maryland with a 7% increase and Montana that went up 13%. It’s also worth noting that the highest tuition increase was found in Hawaii as it went up 138% which isn’t too surprising since there’s only 10 public Universities in the state which allows more for more skewed data.
When comparing the state percentages of people who have been diagnosed with COVID, the highest states have gotten up to 14%. These states are North Dakota and Utah. North Dakota has a current population of 672,591 and 99,323 have been affected, with Utah having 367,073 people affected out of a population of 2,763,885. The two states with the lowest diagnosis rate is Hawaii and Vermont with just 2% of their populations being affected.
