Social tech organisations and COVID-19: Working together to help more people
A collective agreement by and for social tech/tech for good agencies.
We are living through an unprecedented global crisis. As the COVID-19 virus spreads and the pandemic unfolds, we are uncertain about the future. Extraordinary challenges require extraordinary responses and all of us need to put our talents, skills, and experience into service.
Civil society has a huge role to play in the coming weeks and months, providing lifesaving services and the leadership to help us come together to make change. Technology, data and digital tools offer organisations, volunteers, and our communities powerful and effective ways to help those affected by the crisis. To do this at scale, civil society organisations will need support.
We are a group of organisations who already work alongside civil society, supporting change makers to develop the technology they need. We’re ready to pool our resources at a time of need and come together to play our part in the COVID-19 response. We recognise that many organisations do not have the resources they require to deliver this change on their own. Between us, we can build digital services that will reach millions.
Our intention is to offer design, delivery and leadership capacity to the national and international organisations coordinating responses to the crisis. We are all willing to deliver immediate services as required, and coordinate across our organisations to make change happen quickly.
If you are a member of a team with the experience and skills needed to develop tech solutions for civil society at this moment of global panic and you would like to join our coordination efforts, please add your details here.
