What Kind of Sex Does Advertising Sell?
Advertising has had many influences on American culture. From the first advertisements in Ben Franklin’s newsletter, to today’s Super Bowl ads. None more so than through the phrase “sex sells.” As early as the 1930s, Woodbury’s facial soap has used nude women to advertise their soap.
