Kiril Lazarov says he once almost fell from the second floor of the Main Building in AUBG while drunk.
“It was one a.m. and I was drunk. It was just me and Boris. I don’t know why I decided to jump from one railing to the other, but I did and there is a gap between them that I almost fell in. I managed to grab the railing, thankfully, and I was just hanging there for some time.”
He says he has no idea why he did that. He and Boris were filming an episode of the show Tea Time with Boris before the accident. According to Kiril, both of them were drunk during filming.
Tea Time with Boris is one of the shows of Radio AURA, a club in AUBG which Kiril is currently a part of. He works as a producer and is learning how to do his job properly.
“For now, I just helped Boris to make two posters to promote the show and I was a guest on the show too.”
Kiril is also a part of another club in AUBG called the Sustainability Club. They organize events that promote sustainability around campus. According to him, they have made a few successful adjustments.
“There have been certain changes that I think are really good. For example, the water installations in skaptos. Also, if you bring your own container to the canteen, you get a ten percent discount and if you buy food after eight you get another ten percent discount. The point is to reduce plastic usage and food waste,” states Kiril.
Other than participating in clubs, Kiril likes to spend his free time on his hobbies. The hobby that takes up most of his time is gaming. He first started playing games in the 5th grade, thanks to his friends. Because of video games, Kiril thinks he became quite antisocial.
“I blame it on my friends. I was so social until I met those friends and they introduced me to video games,” he says.
However, Kiril’s problem disappeared after coming to AUBG. It all started from the orientation week, which is also one of his favorite memories here.
“Back home I was antisocial because of video games, but when I came here, this one day I went to the canteen for breakfast with my friends and some strangers joined us and we started talking.”
After his friends left, Kiril stayed and socialized with these new people while other strangers kept appearing and sitting down for a conversation. This continued for about four hours.
“It was such a big change for me … I hope more good changes are yet to come,” states Kiril.
