W-Foundation Launches ‘HOOXI’ Campaign with HOOXI W-Party
W-Foundation hosted HOOXI W-PARTY to celebrate the launch of the HOOXI Campaign — a Nation-wide Public Movement to Reduce GHG Emission

Last Thursday (5 July), W-Foundation, the philanthropic foundation behind HOOXI campaign, hosted the ‘HOOXI W-PARTY’ to celebrate the launch of the HOOXI Campaign — a Nation-wide Public Movement to Reduce GHG Emission.
W-Foundation is an international non-profit environmental organization established in 2012. It is known for leading nature conservation projects alongside worldwide government institutions and organizations in areas of environmental research, field investigation, immediate relief, and education.
The HOOXI W-Party was hosted to introduce W Green Pay (WGP), a Stellar-compliant token that aims to reward HOOXI app users for their GHG reduction efforts. For instance, upon completion of a mission in the HOOXI app, users will be awarded mission points which can be exchanged to WGP tokens. Besides its utility as a payment currency at participating online retail stores, these WGP tokens can also be used in a variety of ways.
The event that took place at Seoul Shilla Hotel was graced by Yun Kwansuk (Member, National Assembly), Im Jongseong (Member, National Assembly), Jung Hun (Honorary Consul General of Russia), Cho Donghyuk (Chairman, Hansol Chemical), Lee Youree (CEO, W- Foundation), Lee Wook (Chairman, W-Foundation), Honorary ambassadors of W-Foundation; Gangnam, INFINITE, Choi Sungjun, Yang Jungwon and more than 200 distinguished guests.
In his congratulatory speech during the event, Im Jongseong (Member, National Assembly) said: “While countries around the world have been looking for ways to prevent global warming, they have failed to come up with innovative measures that can induce active participation by the people. The nationwide campaign to reduce greenhouse gas emissions jointly with the W-Foundation will create a new green culture among the people, and give Korea an opportunity to become one of the world’s leading countries in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.”
Following the congratulatory speeches by Yun Kwansuk, Im Jongseong and Cho Donghyuk, Lee Youree (CEO, W-Foundation) went on to introduce WGP and its mission to support the government’s GHG emission reduction efforts.
Lee Youree said: “W Green Pay — the compensation method of the HOOXI App to reward its users’ efforts in GHG reduction, runs on the Stellar blockchain. The Stellar network was specifically chosen for its energy-efficient network, effective built-in token capabilities, along with lower transaction fees and faster settlement times.”
She added: “Users will be able to use WGP tokens in different channels to get the most out of the rewards. We are currently preparing various places for use of the WGP token, such as online and offline shopping malls.”
Jang Dongwoo (Korean Idol Group INFINITE) who was at the event as a W-Foundation honorary ambassador said: “I realized many advantages and practicality of WGP and the initiative behind it. I am looking forward to seeing the involvement of the public as they participate in this green venture to reduce GHG emissions.”
