V4: Become A Whale, Assign A Moderator, Start Claiming Rewards

If you have over 1,000 WHL then the first thing you will want to do in V4 is to become a Whale and start claiming rewards. Whales are receiving 10% of the Social Reward fund.

Become A Whale

Go to https://network.whalecoin.org/, make sure that you are on the V4 tab (should be automatic if you go directly to the above link), and under “My Whale Account” click the button that says “Go.”

Enter the address of your WhaleCoin account containing 1,000 WHL, enter the private key for that address, and click “Become A Whale!” Your private key will not be stored on our server. Please always check the URL of the website when entering a private key to make sure that you are on the right webpage.

This address will also need to have enough WHL in it to cover the gas.

Wait a minute or two and then use Check Whale to make sure that you are now a V4 Whale.

Assign A Moderator

As a Whale you can also assign a Moderator to your account. Moderators are receiving 20% of the Social Reward Fund. You can make yourself the Moderator and collect those rewards.

On the V4 homepage under “Social Network” click the button that says “Go.”

Then under “Whale Actions” click the button that says “Go.”

Enter the WhaleCoin Address that is a Whale, enter the private key for that address, and then enter the WhaleCoin address that you would like to use to moderate (and collect Moderator rewards). It can be the same address as your Whale address. Then click “Add/Update A Moderator.”

Claim Rewards

Moderators and Whales can collect rewards every 1,000 blocks. To check and see if it is time to collect your rewards go to the homepage and then go to “My Whale Rewards.”

Enter the Whale’s address and click “Check Next Block.”

You’ll be given a block number. After this block the Whale (and Moderator) can claim rewards again.

Check to see what block WhaleCoin is on by going to the explorer at https://explorer.whalecoin.org/

We’re well past that block so now it’s time to claim. On the “My Whale Rewards” page enter the address of the account that’s going to pay for gas, the private key for that address, and the address of the Whale (the Moderator’s rewards will be dispersed as well). Your private key will not be stored on our server. Please always check the URL of the website when entering a private key to make sure that you are on the right webpage.

Then click “Claim Reward.”

Wait a minute or two and then use “Check Claims” to make sure that the transaction went through.

It may take a minute to load, but then you will see a list of all of the Claims that you and your Moderator have made.
