Very nicely, Moti, the gardener from Peach 106 scurried towards gigantic Mango tree in the garden.

Pointy leaves of the tree were looking at Moti, like an exercise — an exercise in expulsion — like a road looks at a random tree when autumn comes. Oh, you guys are here.

Minutes later, Mary and Raju joined.

They were looking for something valuable that could be sold.

Previously, the trio had found earrings, lemon pickle, a chain, a phone diary, in the drawers of the kitchen. So now they are here to put it back.

The three stepped outside the aura of the Mango tree. “Gate is unlocked.”

“Hain?” which meant How could that be?

“Why not? We are not the only ones who know about the house.”

The Mango tree swung in affirmation. Just then parrot Pikcha grazed the pipeline along the eastern part of the house. This meant Grey was on his way.

Buttery lemon clouds had arrived and with this Grey’s irreversible dropping had also met the crack of the tile.

Books of students had yet to be updated regarding the number of months allotted to Monsoon.

Delhi was napping on the roofs of houses like it was one of those regular days that Delhi keeps SOSing about, getting charred, getting shifted, and in the midst of all this effortless search, brutal summer heat wave had dropped its cloak.

Grey was however busy. It was teaching rats an important lesson. That they could stay at home for a few more days.

Grey also told the pigeons about Purple 208, where fresh water had been collecting outside the infamous red-letter box. Of course, the pigeons got excited.

They flew towards the guard room, and even though Mango tree was rocking hard in the yellow air like an invisible rocking chair, Moti, Mary and Raju, were busy emptying the drawers.

“Let’s come in the evening also” whispered Mary.
