Over the past week, we were really concerned about how we would demonstrate a conversational user interface within a specific scenario. How do you plan for spoken interactions when you don’t know what kind of content will be spoken by users? We are not experts in investigative work, so this conundrum was a little tricky for us to move past. The good news is that we did move past it and had a very successful workshop with investigators. We demoed 3 prototypes and found how they value spoken interactions and listening technologies. It also appears that we have a clear direction to move forward with for the remainder of the semester.
