My 1st HYPOTHESIS #LeanStartup Learnings
My name is @BooneBergsma, the individual that helped me run this experiment is @joshschukman. I am part of an experimental incubator that gives startups and entrepreneurs funding in exchange for testing and sharing leanstartup hypotheses.
I THOUGHT that 3 businesses out of the 20 with whom I would do interviews would sign up to learn more about the value proposition of our cause related media by May 1st. ACTUALLY I was only able to actually get 3 businesses to give me the time to interview them who match the segment targeted in this experiment.
The MOST SURPRISING thing I learned was how hard it would be to get appointments with CMO’s to answer my interview questions. Even though I shared the reason of my request, most assumed I was another person trying to sell them something.
My first hypothesis was based on finding sponsors for Cause-Integrated Advertising campaigns. I already had a campaign sponsor, but finical stress was making me look for more even though I hadn’t done a good job with the one I had.
So I am re-focusing and working to get the current campaign to completion. I need to learn why people aren’t voting for a cause to receive funding. During the last month 167 people have visited http://www.wethinkitmatters.com/bridgeworksnwbeta.html but ZERO have VOTED.
