How many times have you felt a strong attraction to someone suddenly; the strong urge to be with them for the rest of your life, and a subtle possessiveness to make them yours? Probably because that person is a suitable fit for the expectations and dream fantasies you've created in your mind.

Usually on an influence of couple goals videos and trends, we eagerly want those stuff to be in our lives too, we too want someone to share our club lives, to go on a beautiful date, and to post couple goals videos on various social media platforms. There’s nothing wrong in doing such things with your better halves, but what if someone eagerly wants a person just to copy that stuff?

Here’s when the problem starts, you don't consider being with someone for who they are but to have them make a couple of goals moments, and videos or to show them off as a trophy partner. What even worse is you portray this as love to your partner but deep down you are just chasing your unrealistic dreams.

We sometimes fail to recognize our cunningness and make ourselves innocent in other's eyes, we want someone to perceive us as a good person and to admire us but deep down we aren’t aligning our actions with our narratives.

Take an example we had a mutual friend who was our high school batchmate; she always had a dream of having a perfect boyfriend to show off to her classmates. When we graduated she dated a gym guy who came from a very well-settled family, he treated her with all those things that a boy can do for his partner.

The boy was serious about marriage and starting a family but the girl lost interest in him as her priorities changed. The girl didn't confront her feelings with him, probably because she didn't want to end the relationship when everything was going well.

When they started their relationship everything was like a fairytale story, their couple's profile on social media got a lot of engagement. Till then everyone was aware of their relations so the girl had to marry that guy under social pressure.

The problem started as soon as they got married, all those fairy moments disappeared, and they started to realize each other's true nature. They find it unbearable to be together for their whole life, and eventually, the small arguments turn out to be violent. They started to search for different partners and had to face a lot of hustle and bad nights till they finally got divorced.

And it all started with having a partner for showing off and not being aware of your partner’s true intentions. We fail to recognize our true feelings when we get social hype for trendy things, instead of getting married they could have discussed their emotions openly but that required honest confrontation and would have led to the end of the relationship, which was very much like losing a trophy of social fame.

“To love or have loved, that is enough. Ask nothing further. There is no other pearl to be found in the dark folds of life.” — Victor Hugo, Les Misérables
