You think of me the minute you wake

You can’t recall what you dreamt of

Your heart beats a little quicker than normal

Your cheeks, bright red, as they glow when I kiss you good morning

Roses on the countertop, waiting to greet you

Light music as you walk into the sunlight

Your sights, set on me

Beautiful, as Love should be..

Polaroid prints of us on your nightstand

Captured memories that you can hold in your hand

You can hear my voice as you close your eyes

Mental images of me cupping your face for kisses

Comforting you during your monthly pains

Causing uncontrollable laughter in the worst of times

Cuddles and movies on a Friday night

Racing to the car in the rain

I am your weighted blanket

I am that oversized teddy bear that you lay beside

I am your knight in shining armor

I am your happily ever after

I am the warm fuzzy socks that you wear during the winter months

That first sip of hot chocolate when you make it in from the snow

I am the mattress that you dive on when you make it in from work

I am the nutrients and soil that help you grow

Wiping the tears from your eyes in moments of disappointment

Celebrating your victories and accomplishments

Here through the good and through the bad

I’m solid for you no matter how hard it gets

I will be your shoulder to lean on

I will be your best friend

I am the pen and paper

Your sword and shield

I am a reflection of what you hold within

Everything that you ever dreamt of

Expanding your mind and heart in ways that you have not experienced

I am here.
