I wish you knew

What is love to you

I wish you knew,
All that past tense in my poetry was me
Seeing us in the future.

I wish you knew,
That’s just me being a coward
That’s just me being afraid.

I wish you knew,
Losing you is my biggest fear at the moment
I see myself not being able to hold you anymore.

I wish you knew,
How vulnerable I am
How scared I am

I wish you knew,
I try so hard to be present
to be fully aware while holding on to a handful of sand

So eventually, when you’re gone.
If you really have to go.
Please mind that you were mine.
Always.
