This is what I believe love to be. What does love mean to you?
We’ve all heard that old saying, “Did you see the way they looked at you?” But what does it really mean, and is it true? Is it possible that we’re reading too much into someone’s gaze?
Looking at each other, sitting under the stars with only the light of the moon to illuminate our love, realizing how strong and eternal it remains in the tiniest yet everlasting moments. How a simple, heartfelt conversation with your loved ones can instantly fix anything, and suddenly everything seems beautiful and delightful again in this world of mundane and stress. What once was dull and gray suddenly seems bright and colorful again, and you’re left with a feeling of peace and serenity.
Love isn’t about having the same music taste or thinking they’re the most beautiful person in the world. Love is their laugh when they talk to you about the wonderful day they had. They’re always full of love and happiness, and their laughter is contagious. Love is their eyes when the sun shines and their hair when it rains. Love is waking up every day with a desire to be a better person — for you because you want to be the best version of yourself, and for them, because you want to be a source of light and love in their lives.
Love is their hand in yours, the warmth of their embrace, and the smell of their hair. Love begins each day with a good morning text and ends it with a goodnight kiss. Love is understanding and respect and always being there for each other. Love is choosing to stay and fight for the relationship because, in the end, it’s worth it. Love is the commitment to never give up and the courage to fight for what you know is worth it.
Love is the strength to keep going even when times are tough and the courage to be vulnerable and honest. Love is being able to express your emotions without fear of judgment, knowing that your partner will always be there to listen. Love is the knowledge that no matter what, you have someone in your corner, someone who will love and support you unconditionally.
Love is life. Life is love.
It’s so surreal how a stranger who you’ve never met before turns out to be the one and only blessing you’ve been praying for your entire life. The way they look at you is nothing less than a promise that they are going to be there for you no matter what comes your way. Love doesn’t always need words to communicate; it settles in the silence you share with them, the coincidental glances, the heartfelt conversations, and love dwells in everything in between. It is the little things, the everyday moments that give you a glimpse of their soul and remind you of the love you feel for them.
It is amazing how the same person can give you a sense of security and a sense of fear all at once yet still make you feel so alive. Love is a roller coaster of emotions, and it can be both beautiful and frightening. But most of all, it is the feeling of being completely alive, of being completely immersed in the present moment. Love can be so much more than just a feeling; it can be a journey of self-discovery and growth.
This is what love means to me. What does love mean to you?
To my love, You were the sun that I chased while I was just living in my own little bubble, sheltered from the world. Loving that you felt like playing the same song repeatedly. I knew when the song started playing, what the next set of lyrics would be, and how it would end, yet I still happily repeated the same phase for another ‘once again’.
I wish I had the luxury of eternally seeing the constellation in your eyes. I wish I could spend the evening enjoying our favorite tea and relaxing together. I wish I had a long night just to do stargazing at the highest place in town, with you and only you.
