There’s a certain thrill in building something from scratch, and even more so when it takes minutes instead of days.

With time, I’ve watched AI slowly expand its limbs into nearly every part of the creator economy, from writing and design to code and automation.

When AI-powered website builders started their march, I knew I had to dive in. These tools promise to handle the boulders:

  • designing layouts,
  • generating content,
  • optimizing for SEO, and
  • giving you a ready to publish site with minimal effort.

Some of them deliver better than I expected.

But here’s the thing: with so many no-code website builders with AI out there, it’s hard to know which ones are legit and which ones will leave you with a generic, clunky page that screams “TEMPLATE.”

I decided to run a little experiment.

How I tested the Best AI Website Builders (Test Project: IWCON 2025)

I’m the editor of Infosec Writeups, and every year, we host an online conference with top speakers and attendees from all over the world. For IWCON 2025, I decided to try out AI website builders and see how my website turns out.

To keep things fair, I built the same website across 20+ tools, using the same content from our IWCON homepage. The idea was simple: see how each tool handles the layout, ease of use, content generation, and customization.

I added 2–3 fictional speakers, dropped in a sample two-day schedule, and created basic sections like About, Registration, and FAQs. The goal was to simulate a real-world use case: building a clean, responsive, professional event website using nothing but AI.

No pre-made templates. No third-party plugins. Just me, a prompt, and whatever each AI builder could come up with.

The results turned out to be surprisingly varied.

Some tools knocked it out of the park; delivering sleek designs, well-written copy, and mobile-friendly responsiveness right out of the gate. Others felt half-baked, with clunk UX, poor layout decisions, and copy that read like a robot had a rough day at work.

In this guide, I’m breaking down the top 6 AI website builders that actually delivered. I’ll break down what each tool hit a homerun, where it fell short, who it’s best suited for, and the kind of website you can expect to build with it.

Top 6 AI Website Builders (with real results)

AI website builders are changing how we create on the web. For solopreneurs, designers, and small business owners, these tools offer stunning, responsive websites without writing a line of code.

In this guide, I reviewed the 20 most popular AI website builders to bring you the top 6 worth your time in 2025.

I tested each builder using the same base content and structure, to my surprise they performed quite well.

1. CodeDesign.ai

Every once in a while, I come across a tool that makes me think, “Wait, why isn’t everyone using this?” That was my exact reaction after trying out CodeDesign.ai.

While testing AI-powered website builders for IWCON 2025, my goal was to build the same website across different platforms and see which one balances speed, design, and ease of use best. Spoiler: CodeDesign surprised me — in a good way.

Screenshot by the author from CodeDesign

The onboarding was smooth. You just drop in a short prompt describing your project. Mine was something like:

“A global cybersecurity conference with international speakers and expert-led sessions.”

In less than a minute, CodeDesign builds you a full-blown website. Header, about section, CTAs, pricing, even FAQs.

Screenshot by the author of the website built using CodeDesign

It wasn’t just filler content either, the copy it generated actually made sense.

Screenshot by the author of the website built using CodeDesign

As a writer, I’m super picky about tone and clarity. CodeDesign’s AI copy felt crisp, clean, and easy to edit.

Screenshot by the author of the website built using CodeDesign

I updated speaker bios (shoutout to Rayna Iyer and Chris Donovan), added a two-day schedule, and the rest of the site adjusted automatically. No fuss.

Screenshot by the author from CodeDesign

Where this tool rocks in speed and simplicity. You don’t need to design anything from the ground up. Hero sections with CTAs, responsive image galleries, newsletter blocks, everything pre-optimized for mobile and SEO, it’s like the layout is built for performers. It’s like the AI knew what a good landing page should look like and just ran with it.

Now, is it perfect? Not quite, let me tell you why.

Cons of CodeDesign

  • Customization is limited beyond the generated layout.
  • You can edit text, colours, and images, but if you’re hoping to rearrange components or go full Web flow mode, you’ll feel constrained. Think of CodeDesign like a blueprint that’s 90% done; great for MVPs and quick launches, but not for pixel-perfectionists.
  • There’s no blog or CMS functionality yet.

If you’re building a content-heavy site or planning long-term scale, this might not be your forever tool. But for launches, events, or idea validation, it’s exactly what you need.

Pros of CodeDesign

  • What surprised me most was how beginner-friendly it felt.
  • You don’t need to know design lingo or marketing strategy. The AI guides you, suggests smart layout elements, and even helps with meta titles and descriptions.

I finished the entire IWCON page in under 30 minutes.

CodeDesign Pricing

There’s a free plan to test the waters, and paid plans start at $7/month. Honestly, it’s a fair price for how much time and brainpower it saves. If you’re a solo creator, a freelancer building client sites, or someone testing product-market fit, this is the kind of tool that lets you move fast and look good doing it.

CodeDesign final verdict

If you want a zero-stress way to build a polished website in record time, CodeDesign.ai is a hidden gem.

It’s not the most flexible, but it’s definitely one of the smartest. This one’s worth bookmarking for simple, high-impact websites that just work.

2. Dorik

If I had to pick one AI website builder which held the perfect balance between automation and creative control, Dorik would be my best bet, because why not? Here’s why it is near the top of that list.

Screenshot by the author from Dorik

When I started building IWCON 2025 website, I wanted a platform that won’t just go around and put stuff in a blender and spit out a basic layout but would actually go around and give me the flexibility to fiddle with the design and layout (the UI) to suit the tone of a cybersecurity conference.

Screenshot by the author from Dorik

For the most part, Dorik delivered on that promise.

Screenshot by the author of Dorik’s workspace.

Right from that start, Dorik’s drag-and-drop editor felt stunningly intuitive. It can also be termed as the Canva of website builders:

  • super visual,
  • no-code, and
  • surprisingly robust.
Screenshot by the author of the website built using Dorik

For designing the event pages, I used one of their responsive templates specifically designed for them.

Screenshot by the author of the website built using Dorik

It already had all the sections I needed: hero banner, speaker lineup, schedule block, FAQs, and even a contact form. All I had to do was just plug in the content and tune a few design elements to my liking and poof, my site was alive and breathing.

Screenshot by the author from Dorik

For IWCON, I added a couple of dummy speaker cards featuring names like ‘Alex Torres’ and ‘Nisha Verma’, both styled with properly written bios and headshots. I added a schedule section too which was also easy.

All I did was just select a pre-built component and update the times and topics, and there we go! Everything just fit into place nicely like a toolbox, and the mobile responsiveness was spot-on, without any extra fiddling.

Pros of Dorik

  • What impressed me the most was how clean and customizable everything felt.
  • While other builders like Pineapple or Mixo heavily focus on the automation, our lovely Dorik hits a sweet spot where the AI helps you get started, but nevertheless, the final touches are still very much in your hands.

For a conference website where branding matters, I appreciated that.

Cons of Dorik

Having said that, I did run into a few predicaments.

  • This builder can feel a bit too overwhelming if you are totally new to web design.
  • It’s so easy to get caught in a loop of tweaking margins and fonts for hours because there are SO many design choices and layout options, so many that I couldn’t fathom.
  • While their blog feature is functional, it’s not as powerful or feature rich as WordPress.

Dorik Pricing plans

On the pricing side, Dorik is super competitive. With plans starting at just $6.13/month, which is an absolute steal considering the value you get. You can connect your own domain, access analytics and even unlock custom code blocks even on lower-tier plans. This is an amazingly fantastic option for small businesses or freelancers who want a bit more polished work and control without the bloat of traditional builders.

Dorik Final Verdict

If you want to build a stunning, responsive website with enough customization to feel personal, Dorik is absolutely worth your time if you don’t want to dive into full-on development.

3. Pineapple Builder

Pineapple Builder gave me one of the fastest ‘wow’ moments out of all the AI website builder I tested.

Screenshot by the author from Pineapple Builder

Start by giving a prompt of what you want with your website.

Pick a template that speaks to you the most.

Screenshot by the author from Pineapple Builder

Upon plugging in the IWCON 2025 content, Pineapple gave me a surprisingly professional looking landing page within a minute!

Screenshot by the author of Pineapple Builder’s workspace

The first thing I noticed, it rephrased and polished the marking copy in a tone that sounded like a techno-savvy startup instead of just going around and copy-pasting it.

Screenshot by the author of the website built using Pineapple Builder

The layout was bold, conversion-focused, and honestly it looked like something a tech startup would proudly launch on Product Hunt.

Screenshot by the author of the website built using Pineapple Builder

I added two dummy speakers (Nina Roy and Cameron Blake), updated the agenda section, and took a sip of punch as Pineapple did most of the punching.

Screenshot by the author of the website built using Pineapple Builder

The AI even tweaked the marketing copy to make it even punchier. Want to feel like working with a creative partner who knew the structure of high-performing event pages? Pineapple is your guy.

Screenshot by the author of the website built using Pineapple Builder

What I loved the most was the speed. The entire site was up and running in just under 15 minutes with no fiddling with headers or playing tetris with content blocks at all. Just smooth, fast results looking good right out of the bat.

Of course, it’s not all cupcakes and rainbows.

Cons of Pineapple Builder

  • While Pineapple gives you a slick layout almost instantly, it’s not very forgiving if you want to break out of its mold.
  • There is not much leg room to move sections around or deeply customize the design as the template library is limited.
  • You might find it restrictive if you are someone who wants everything pixel perfect.

Pros of Pineapple Builder

That said, it’s kind of perfect for many users, be it solo creators, indie founders, or marketers launching quick campaigns.

  • It removes friction and
  • delivers something like 85% ready, which to be honest is usually good enough for a launch.

Pineapple Builder Pricing

The Pricing starts at $12/month, which I’d consider fair for the time and design effort you save and a better alternative to hiring someone. If you’re constantly writing up new pages or want something more polished than notion, but slightly less complex than Webflow, then Pineapple is your guy. There is also a free plan for preferably personal or starter content.

Screenshot by the author from Pineapple Builder pricing plans

Pineapple Builder final verdict

Would I recommend it? Yes of course! Especially if speed and simplicity matter more to you than total control. Pineapple builder isn’t trying to be everything; rather it’s trying to be fast, good enough, and effortless. And for what it is, it really does nail the assignment.

4. SITE123

SITE123 came across as the most beginner-friendly and structured platform among the various tools that I tested for the IWCON 2025. This turned out to be both a blessing and a limitation, all a matter of perspective.

SITE123 positions itself as a “guided website builder” straight at the start. And honestly, it lives up to that promise.

It’s humble in the sense that it doesn’t assume you know anything about web design and content layout. It’s very user friendly; Everything is arranged step-by-step: just pick your website type, fill out a few prompts, and the builder assembles something that’s functional and aesthetically decent.

Screenshot by the author from SITE123
Screenshot by the author from SITE123

For someone like me who wanted to build an event website with multiple sections, speaker bios, schedule, etc., this website handled the basics quite well. I used one of their templates geared toward conferences and dummy speakers (Jane Lee and Marco Ellis) and inserted a simplified two-day schedule for testing purposes. The block-based system worked well for what it was.

Screenshot by the author of SITE123’s workspace

One of the features I didn’t expect to love: Mobile responsiveness. Everything looked crisp on phones and tablets right out of the box. I didn’t touch a single breakpoint or media query. As someone who’s spent hours fixing weird mobile glitches in the past, this was a breath of fresh air.

Cons of SITE123

‘But’ it comes at the cost of creative freedom. Compared to something like Dorik or Pineapple Builder, SITE123 feels more like you’re painting inside the lines. You can rearrange blocks, sure, but you won’t get pixel-perfect customization or the ability to break the mold. And for someone who likes to put their own stamp on things, that limitation starts to show quickly.

Pros of SITE123

One area where SITE123 seriously impressed me: Multilingual support. With just a few clicks, I duplicated the site in Spanish and Hindi. No plugins, no external integrations. If your audience spans geographies or you’re planning a global virtual event, this could be an absolute game-changer.

The built-in eCommerce tools and contact forms are simple but effective. I tested a basic registration form and a product-style ticket setup, and it handled both smoothly. It’s not flashy, but it gets the job done.

SITE123 Pricing plans

As for pricing, SITE123 starts with a free plan that includes basic features and a subdomain. The premium plans begin just at $5.80/month, which is very affordable, especially for local businesses or non-technical users. Just be aware that many essential features require a paid upgrade such as connecting a custom domain, removing ads, or unlocking SEO tools.

SITE123 Final verdict

If you want a simple site that’s quick to build, looks clean across all devices, and won’t make you second-guess every design choice, SITE123 is a solid pick. Just don’t expect it to flex much outside the lines. And honestly, sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

5. Mixo

I tested Mixo out while building the IWCON 2025 website, and in the time it took me to finish a cup of coffee, Mixo had already spun up a fully functional landing page.

No joke. It felt like magic.

When I say Mixo is fast, I mean ‘blink-and-it’s-done’ kind of fast.

Screenshot by the author from Mixo

You just feed it a prompt like,

“IWCON 2025 is a global cybersecurity conference with speakers from across the world.”

Mixo fills in the blanks. It gives you an about section, a registration call-to-action, and even throws in a contact form. I added two dummy speakers like I had been doing for earlier tools (Aarav Mehta and Lucia Marino), updated the agenda block with a basic two-day schedule, and it all just worked!

Screenshot by the author from Mixo

The UI is clean and straightforward. Honestly, it reminded me of Notion if Notion decided to build landing pages. It doesn’t overwhelm you with choices.

Screenshot by the author of the website built using Mixo

There’s no need to tinker with padding, alignment, or breakpoints. Mixo does the heavy lifting, and you just supervise.

Screenshot by the author of the website built using Mixo

Well, here is a big point: it’s not made for customization freaks. You can’t really go around drag-and-drop new components or reorder blocks in a super flexible way. What you get is a solid structure, but it’s pretty much ‘take it or leave it’.

If you’re building a full-blown website with multiple sections, content libraries, and heavy branding requirements, Mixo is not something that fits the bill.

But if you’re looking to launch fast and look good doing it? Mixo is your guy.

Cons of Mixo

One thing I wish it had was a template gallery; the current setup relies entirely on the AI’s layout decisions, which are mostly decent, but sometimes not what you imagined. There’s also no way to build out blog sections or expand into a multi-page site.

Pros of Mixo

That said, Mixo’s strength lies in its speed. It’s a great tool for MVPs, startup landing pages, event promos, or even a quick personal brand site. For someone like me who hops around multiple projects, the ability to ship something this fast with minimal edits is a huge win.

Mixo Pricing plans

The Pricing starts at $6/month, which feels more than fair for what it offers. There’s also a free trial, which gives you a taste of how frictionless the experience is.

Screenshot by the author from Mixo
Screenshot by the author from Mixo

Mixo Final Verdict

If you’re short on time, don’t need complex features, and just want to launch a clean, no-fuss landing page; Mixo is the tool you didn’t know you needed. Fast, minimal, and efficient. Sometimes, that’s all you need.

6. Codia

Embrace the satisfying experience of seeing a figma design come to life as a functioning website without writing a single line of code with Codia.ai. And honestly? It delivers.

Now, let’s set expectations right: this isn’t your typical drag-and-drop, fill-in-the-blank AI-powered website builder. Codia is built for people who live and breathe Figma; the designers, freelancers, product folks, and startup teams who already have a clear layout vision but need help translating that vision into production-ready code.

Screenshot by the author from Codia

For the IWCON 2025 test, I whipped up a quick Figma layout with a hero section, two speaker profiles (Ananya Rao and Luca Martinez), and a basic two-day schedule. I wanted to see how well Codia could handle a real-world design with layered components, nested elements, and multiple font styles. What happened next was that I uploaded the Figma file, and within minutes, Codia turned my static mock-up into a working, deployable website. I’m yes talking clean HTML, CSS, and JS that actually looked like what I had in Figma. No layout shifts. No weird formatting bugs.

Screenshot by the author from Codia

For someone who’s spent days manually tinkering designs and hammering code into shape, this felt like a huge time-saver.

But let’s be real, Codia isn’t for everyone. If you’re just starting out or don’t use design tools, you’ll probably find this intimidating. It’s not the kind of platform where you type “make me a website for a marketing agency” and get a polished result. It expects you to come prepared with your design ready to go. Indeed, Figma is a software for web-dev and UI/UX used widely by many people.

Pros:

That’s what makes it such a great fit for agencies or solopreneurs who already have a workflow involving Figma. You can focus on the visual side of things and let Codia take care of development. It bridges that awkward design-to-code handoff that usually eats up time and causes errors, and trust me, nobody likes that.

Cons:

A few things to note though, customization happens in the Figma stage, not post-export. So if you want a font changed or a button moved, you need to update your design and re-export. Not a dealbreaker, but it does take some getting used to, of course. And it makes a little bit of sense after all.

Pricing:

Regarding the pricing, It’s custom. Which usually means it leans more toward professional use cases and teams. If you’re a solo designer working on occasional projects, it might be more than you need. But if you’re regularly building out sites from Figma, it could easily pay for itself in time saved.

Screenshot by the author from Codia

Verdict: If you work in Figma and you’re tired of dev handoffs, Codia is the secret weapon you didn’t know you needed. It’s not for beginners, but if you’re in that sweet spot between design and dev, it’s absolutely worth a try.

Comparative Analysis of AI Website Builders

Not all AI site builders are built the same- and depending on your goals, what feels like a “winner” might completely miss the mark for someone else. After testing each tool with the same IWCON 2025 website content, here’s how they stacked up across key areas:

Performance & Speed

Top Pick: Mixo
If you need something up now, Mixo wins hands down. It builds an entire landing page in less time than it takes to brew your coffee. Minimal setup, zero fluff.

Design Flexibility

Top Pick: Dorik
Dorik offers the kind of creative freedom you usually only get with traditional builders. It’s the one tool where I felt like the design was mine and not just something the AI had cooked up.

SEO Capabilities

Top Pick: CodeDesign.ai
Built-in metadata, keyword optimization prompts, clean layout structure. CodeDesign goes beyond just visuals. It actually helps your site perform better on Google.

Customer Support

Top Pick: SITE123
If you’re the kind of person who appreciates hand-holding (no shame in that!), SITE123’s support system and guided setup make it super beginner-friendly.

Pricing & Value

Top Pick: Dorik
With plans starting at $6.13/month and a feature set that rival tools 5x the price, Dorik gives you the most bang for your buck, especially if you’re bootstrapping.

The Biggest Benefits of Using AI Website Builders

After this experiment, I can confidently say AI site builders aren’t just a novelty, they’re a genuine productivity hack. Here’s why they worked so well for me:

  • Time Efficiency: You can go from idea to publish-ready in under an hour. No devs, no wireframes, no back-and-forth.
  • Cost-Effectiveness: Forget hiring a designer or spending weeks learning WordPress. These tools start as low as a few bucks a month.
  • Enhanced User Experience: Most sites are automatically mobile-responsive, cleanly laid out, and intuitive for end-users.
  • Improved SEO Performance: The smarter tools help you structure your content in a way that Google actually likes. A huge win.

Some Potential Drawbacks of AI Website Builders

Of course, nothing’s perfect. While AI builders are evolving fast, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Customization Constraints: You’re often working within fixed layouts or limited control over design elements.
  • Dependence on AI Accuracy: Sometimes the AI nails your vision. Other times, it serves you lorem ipsum and odd layout choices.
  • Costs for Advanced Features: Many of the “wow” features like custom domains, integrations, analytics, sit behind a paywall.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about AI Website Builders
