Two Volcanos

A couple of weeks ago, we live a breathtaking experience discovering two sicilian volcanoes: Etna and Stromboli.

Etna is the highest active volcano in Europe and one of the most important worldwide. A big mother made by more than 300 craters: a complex, spectacular and multifaced natural environment.

There is always one way to discover Etna: walking through, walking through, walking through and following the North.

Strombolicchio (little Stromboli) is the old father of the Stromboli islands. It was born around 200.000 years ago and what we can see now it’s only the central part of the volcano that is called “neck” (volcanic plug). So staying between Stromboli and Strombolicchio, floating on a small boat, you can feel yourself, just for a second, part of this family, with an old-little father that every day, centuries after centuries, see his young-big son growing up eruption by eruption.

After 400mt high, nature stops growing on Stromboli, but while we climbed we met this tree that gave us the power to go forward and reach the top of the volcano.

There are less things similar to a dream like seeing an eruption from above, above the clouds and craters.

A breathtaking experience that everyone should try once in the life: see how alive is the power of mother earth.

Thanks to Pecora Verde to made it possible.
