The title says it all, “Enjoy the silence.” The lyrics are simple and yet make a direct and powerful impact.

Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world
Painful to me
Pierce right through me
Can’t you understand?
Oh my little girl
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

When you are in quiet contemplation and deeply enjoying the moment, any sound would seem like an intrusion. The poet says that the ‘words are like violence.’ This is enhanced by the choice of the words break, crashing, painful, and pierce right through me.

The poet repeatedly says that all he ever wanted is right in his arms and he does not need anything more.

Some moments are just so perfect that we cannot put into words what the mind experiences and feels. The poet says that the words cannot enhance and are a total waste — if at all, they can destroy the moment.

Vows are spoken
To be broken
Feelings are intense
Words are trivial
Pleasures remain
So does the pain
Words are meaningless
And forgettable

The poet says that vows are spoken only to be broken, words are trivial, forgettable, and meaningless. Essentially words are not a true representative of one’s emotions. The feelings, on the other hand, are intense — both pleasure or pain.
