How your city can get free support for building a data-driven government

Submit a What Works Cities Assessment

Over 150 cities have completed a What Works Cities Assessment to have their data practices benchmarked against What Works Cities Certification’s national standard. As a part of completing an Assessment, cities receive a report that serves as a roadmap for cities to use as they continue to leverage data and evidence to make effective decisions and improve residents’ lives.

While top-performing cities go on to receive our Certification award, the Certification program is for all cities with populations of 30,000 or higher that are looking to accelerate their progress through our suite of resources.

Completing an Assessment can take as little as an hour and automatically makes cities eligible to receive a range of exclusive support — from learning and networking opportunities to technical assistance engagements — from our five expert partners.
